Formerly, a shepherd's knife or a Corsican peasant, the Cursina was regarded rather as a tool than as a pocket knife.
Its particularity is due to the shape of its blade with a very rounded back, varying from one region or from one blacksmith to another and including a tarabiscot (tool to make moldings in wood).
The sleeves were shaped from materials found on the spot (wood, bone, horn). This rustic knife, a forgotten time, is now sought after by hunters who use it to cut and carve the boar. The most beautiful models have a Damascus steel blade.
