"Handmade" knife: The Pialincu in Corsican boxwood

Imagined and designed in Corsica by passionate professional cutters who have united their know-how: Antoine and Camille Zuria in Bonifacio (Corsica), Gilles® Fontenille Pataud in Thiers and Robert Beillonnet, M.O.F 1997 and 2000.

This "handmade" knife is called the "Pialincu", in homage to the ancestral Bonifacian peasant* who left the citadel before sunrise to go, at the step of his donkey, on the «Piale», this near Bonifacian countryside where, each family had a small piece of land surrounded by dry stone walls. The Pialincu spent his day there, making the most of this arid land to feed his family. His knife never left him.

This «Pialincu» knife measures 10.5 cm closed, which is rare and suitable for small hands, especially those of women. Its mechanism is composed of a single piece with a safety detent at the rear. Its handle is made of natural wood (olive, oak, juniper, briar root, etc.), horn (cow, ram) or bone. Its blade is made of stainless steel "14C28N" or "RWL 34". There are more prestigious models mounted with a Damascus blade.

Blade:
- Swedish stainless steel 14C28N thickness 3 mm at heel. Hardness: 58-59 Hrc
- Special steel RWL 34 Hardness: 60 Hrc

Size & weight: 10.5 cm closed, 19 cm open, about 100 g
Handle: Corsican boxwood. Each handle is unique.
Spring and Technique: Locking of blade with rear pump (lock-back), fixed stop for the blade: it does not strike the bottom of the knife at the closure
Spring forged, chiseled and polished inside.
Comes with belt holster

*The last Pialincu bonifacien was Dominique Zuria. He died in 2010. This knife is dedicated to him.
