New design for the Special edition shepherd's knife with Damascus blade: the steel bolster has been enlarged for a better grip and a steel decoration in the shape of Corsica is now inlaid on the wooden handle. This model retains the tab on the blade to open it more easily.
Inspired by the rounded shape of the Corsican knife "Le Berger", this elegant knife has an Arbutus wood handle and a chiseled spring.
Originally, the Berger was a Corsican pocket knife. Created for work, it was used for hunting or for carving small pieces of wood. This knife was created by a shepherd for work. It is used for hunting to skin game, because of its wide blade with a pointed tip pointing towards the back. Its thick and short blade makes it an ideal tool for carving wood and cork. The curved handle of the Shepherd, directly inspired by the Ram's Horn, offers an ideal grip and great precision of movement.
It comes with a leather belt case.
The steels that make up the Damascus blade* have the following values:
- Carbon 0.75% Manganese 0.29% Silicon 0.33% Phosphorus 0.02% Suffers 0.01% Chromium 13.05% Nickel 0.14% Molybdenum 0.18% Vanadium 0.14%
- Damascus stainless steel thanks to its high chromium content
- Hardness of 58 Rockwell unit
- Sandwich manufacturing technique
- Carbon steel sheet wedged between two parts in Damascus of 35 layers each (35 x 2 + 1 sheet Carbon = Damascus 71 layers) this allows to have an excellent edge
*This Damascus is not made to be revealed and therefore visible, it will fade with wear but this does not affect the cutting quality in any way.
Warning: The handle is made of natural wood, each piece is therefore unique.
