"Handmade" knife: The Pialincu in Speckled Birch and Damascus blade

Part of the Zuria collection, this knife imagined and designed in Corsica was made by passionate professional cutters who have united their knowledge: Antoine and Camille Zuria in Bonifacio (Corsica), Gilles® Fontenille Pataud in Thiers and Robert Beillonnet.

This knife is called the «Pialincu», in homage to the ancestral Bonifacian peasant* who left the citadel before sunrise to go, at the foot of his donkey, on the «Piale», this close Bonifacian countryside where, each family had a small piece of land surrounded by dry stone walls. The Pialincu spent his day there, making the most of this arid land to feed his family. His knife never left him.

The «Pialincu» measures 10.5 cm when it is closed, which is quite rare. It is perfectly suitable for small hands or for women. It has a one-piece mechanism with a safety detent located at the rear of the handle.

With its exclusive Damasteel® Damascus steel blade, this model is one of our most prestigious "handmade" knives, it comes with a leather belt case.

Blade: Damascus steel HK stainless 120 layers. Hardness: 56 Hrc. 
Size & weight: 10.5 cm closed, 19 cm open, about 100 g
Handle: Birch speckled first choice. Each handle is unique.
Spring and Technique: Locking of blade with rear pump (lock-back), fixed stop for the blade: it does not strike the bottom of the knife at the closure

*The last Pialincu bonifacien was Dominique Zuria. He died in 2010. This knife is dedicated to him.
