Artisanal Corsican knife: Cursina Zuria in Horn of Aries
The Cursina is a shepherd's knife in Bonifacio Corsica handcrafted by Cutlers Antoine Zuria and Camille. This knife has a notched blade that was to carve small pieces of wood.
Formerly shepherd knife or peasant Corsica, Cursina was rather seen as a tool than a pocket knife. Its uniqueness lies in the shape of its blade very rounded back, varying from a region or a blacksmith to the other and having a tarabiscot (tool making in wood moldings). The sleeves were fashioned from materials found on site (wood, bone, horn). This rustic knife, a forgotten time, is now sought after by hunters who use them to carve and cut the boar.
Warning: This is a homemade knife, each piece is unique and non-contractual photos.
