Corsican Shepherd Knife: Olive Wood Handle and Raw Forged Blade

Fall for this new variation of the Shepherd knife! This model has an Olive Wood handle with a metal Corsican inlay, a steel bolster and a raw forged blade.

The "raw forged blade" version: an old technique that prevented rust from settling on the blade. The blade is burned then hammered and finally polished gradually to release the cutting edge from it.

Our Corsican cutlers have applied this "raw forged" treatment which gives a rustic appearance to the blade of this model from the shepherd knife collection. This version is also equipped with a Lock back safety system for safe use.

This knife was created by a shepherd for work. It was used for hunting to skin game, because of its wide blade with a pointed tip pointing backwards. Its thick and short blade makes it an ideal tool for carving wood and cork. The curved handle of the Shepherd, directly inspired by the Ram's Horn, offers an ideal grip and great precision of movement.

Warning: The handles are made of natural wood or horn, each piece is therefore unique.
